Content: Among 6.5 billion people on the earth, there is no one who likes and wants to pollute the earth intentionally. But the earth severely suffers from global and regional environmental pollution. In this class, we clarify the pollution mechanism from natural scientific viewpoints, and then discuss social responses and mitigation measures to these problems. Students are expected to be discussion leaders of the assigned topic. First half of the class, we focus on global environment concern and study contemporary scientific, technical and socioeconomic knowledge about climate change using IPCC reports. Last half, students will present their research results of a specific environmental episode from natural scientific viewpoints, and the social responses.
